Australian Kyokushin Karate Association

The South Pacific Kyokushinkai Organization was founded the following year, in 1968. Ivan Zavechanos served as its first chairman until 1970, when John Jarvis (of New Zealand) was named to the position. The New Zealand Kyokushin Association was established in 1969, however the Australian Kyokushin Karate Association wasn’t founded until 1974. John Taylor, Gary Viccars, Brian Ellison, Grant Radonich, Peter Wolfe, and Trevor Field were present for the inaugural meeting.
