A historic form of karate practiced in Japan is called Go-Kan-Ryu Karate (GKR). Robert Sullivan established GKR in Adelaide, South Australia. Robert originally started learning the martial art in 1964. He later trained and taught in Japan and the USA before founding GKR in 1984.
GKR Karate is taught in a non-contact setting and fosters the growth of both the mind and body. GKR is an organization that fosters self-defense, physical fitness, hand-eye coordination, self-discipline, self-assurance, and stress reduction.
