The purpose of founding Kin Shin Kai was to impart a far more practical grasp of traditional karate and to put each member’s personal growth ahead of the status and wealth of the instructor.
With a old school training ethos, Kin Shin Kai is a Goju Ryu karate school.
The style of karate called Goju Ryu was depicted in the first Karate Kid film. The first Mr Miyagi, Miyagi Chojun, founded Goju Ryu (1888-1953)
Old school alludes to earlier eras when karate had to be much more useful.
George Ciechanowicz, a master level 7th Dan karate instructor who has had the good fortune to study with some of the best in the world, namely the late Ohtsuka Tadahiko O-sensei and the founder of Kin Shin Kai, is the head instructor.
