Robert Z was invited to take part in a special activities day at the Kooyong Association for the Blind in 1993. The Association gave the use of its leisure hall for free in exchange for Association Members, staff, and customers attending the training for a small fee. The day and the experience for the partially and fully blind participants were highly successful. This resulted in regular sessions being held here on Tuesdays and Thursdays for around 18 months.
Many of the participants expected this degree of support with every activity, and the level of support required by the vision impaired was often as high as one-to-one. Only two people remained in attendance after roughly a half hour.
